Ready Player 1: Paris to host 2027 edition of EVO combat video games event
Paris will host the 2027 edition of EVO, the biggest combat video games event in the world, the organisers announced Sunday as this year's event drew to a close in Nice.
Next year's event, which pits top players of games such as Street Fighter and Tekken against each other, will take place between October 22-24, said the organisers.
The specific venue in Paris is still to be announced.
The move to the French capital is designed to accelerate the event's European development, they added.
Paris already hosts several major esports events including the Esports World Cup this summer.
The previous two editions of EVO France have taken place in the French Mediterranean city of Nice.
In 2027, EVO will also hold events in Singapore, Morocco and Brazil.
