Brittany Cartwright alleges threats, physical violence, stalking and property damage by estranged husband Jax Taylor; a Los Angeles judge ordered him to remain 100 yards away.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has granted Brittany Cartwright a temporary domestic-violence restraining order against estranged husband Jax Taylor after she accused him of threatening to kill her, physically attacking her and engaging in years of controlling behavior.
The order, filed and approved Thursday, requires Taylor to remain at least 100 yards from Cartwright. She also asked for sole custody of the couple’s five-year-old son, Cruz, but the judge declined to grant that request before a scheduled hearing.
In a declaration filed with the court, Cartwright alleged a decade-long pattern that included coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and physical violence. She claimed Taylor threatened to “gut” her, threw furniture and caused injuries during attacks.
Cartwright further alleged that Taylor damaged three iPhones, an iPad and other household property. She said he accessed her phone, messages and Instagram account without permission, deleted communications and took her $70,000 wedding ring from their home without returning it.
According to the filing, Taylor also threatened to publicize false claims about Cartwright. She accused him of posting private communications about their child on OurFamilyWizard, a service used by separated parents to coordinate child-related matters.
The declaration said Taylor repeatedly directed degrading language at Cartwright in private and in public, including in their son’s presence. She also claimed he invoked possible child and spousal support obligations as a way to pressure and intimidate her, telling her that after living on his income she would be required to pay him.
Cartwright and Taylor married in 2019 and later separated. She filed for divorce in 2024. Both appeared in the reality programs “Vanderpump Rules” and “The Valley,” making their relationship and breakup subjects of continuing public attention.
The temporary order does not constitute a final judicial finding on Cartwright’s allegations. Taylor had not responded to TMZ’s request for comment by the time the report was published, and the custody issue remained pending for the court hearing.
